ASSIGNMENT OF NIE

Foreigners who, due to their economic, professional or social interests, are related to Spain, will be provided, for identification purposes, with a personal, unique and exclusive number, of a sequential nature.

The personal number will be the foreigner's identifier, which must appear on all the documents that are issued or processed, as well as the procedures that are stamped on their identity card or passport.


For the assignment of NIE For reasons of economic, professional or social interests, the following requests will be accepted:


  • Those presented in Spain personally by the interested party,
  • Those presented in Spain through a representative,
  • Those presented at the Spanish Diplomatic Representations or Consular Offices located in the country of residence of the applicant, corresponding to their demarcation of residence.


The interested party must be in Spain in a legal situation so that they can go to the corresponding Police Station. You must bring the necessary documentation for this procedure.


The NIE  (temporary) has a VALIDITY  of    THREE MONTHS.   

UNION CITIZEN REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE


Citizens of a Member State of the EU or of another State party to the Agreement on the EEA who are going to reside in Spain for a period of more than three months, are obliged to apply in person at the Immigration Office of the province where they intend to stay. or establish their residence or, failing that, before the corresponding Police Station, their registration in the Central Registry of Foreigners.


This request must be submitted within three months from the date of entry into Spain, and a registration certificate will be issued immediately, stating the name, nationality and address of the registered person, their foreign identity number, and the registration date.


The applicant must appear in person at the General Immigration and Borders Police Station of the National Police.


Every citizen of a Member State of the European Union or of another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area has the right to reside in the territory of the Spanish State for a period of more than three months if:

  • You are an employee in Spain, or
  • You are a self-employed worker in Spain, or
  • He has sufficient resources for himself and for the members of his family so as not to become a burden for social assistance in Spain during his period of residence. You must also provide public or private health insurance, contracted in Spain or in another country, that provides coverage in Spain during your period of residence equivalent to that provided by the National Health System.
